Seagrove Beach is about 9.8 miles from our office, roughly a 17-minute drive on N County Hwy 393, US 98 and CR 395. It is an unincorporated stretch of 30A between Seaside and WaterSound, platted in 1949, with live oaks and magnolias still shading many lots.
Old Seagrove, the original 1949 plat south of 30A, is mostly mid-century cottages, and newer homes sit beside them and north of the highway. Local guides say Seagrove has no community-wide HOA or design code, but individual subdivisions and condominiums set their own rules, so ask your association before you change a door's style. Walton County also has a neighborhood plan for Old Seagrove.
Summers are long: NOAA's 1991-2020 normals show about 50 days a year at or above 90°F. DASMA advises keeping garage doors closed where possible in climates with heavy rain or saline coastal air, because an open door exposes its springs to the weather.

From the office we take N County Hwy 393 south to US 98, then CR 395 down to 30A. Callers in Seagrove often place themselves by Eastern Lake, by a beach walkover such as Santa Clara or San Juan, or by Old Seagrove streets like Dogwood, Forest and Hickory. Before we put a new opener on an older cottage we test the door's balance first, because an opener installed on an unbalanced door may not reverse safely.
