Seaside is about 9.1 miles from our office, roughly an 18-minute drive on N County Hwy 393, US 98, CR 283 and East CR 30A. It is an unincorporated, master-planned town of about 80 acres on 30A, first constructed in 1981 on New Urbanist principles, with about 300 homes.
Seaside's homes are mostly wood-frame cottages with deep porches and metal roofs, and many have a detached carriage house or guest suite. Local guides say the town's Urban Code governs the look and that exterior changes are reviewed by the town architect, so a new door's style, panel pattern and color should be cleared before you order it.
Sun and weather change finishes over time, so even a new panel from the same maker may not match an older door, and a replacement panel can sometimes be painted to blend.
